Karen Ford

Principal

As the owner of WaterPR, Karen manages business operations and directs all creative and client services. With more than 25 years of communication experience and a deep understanding of water concerns, Karen provides effective leadership for her business and client projects. Prior to joining WaterPR, Karen headed up her own creative communications company with a focus on environment, public health, and women and children’s issues. Karen also served as director of creative services at EnviroMedia, marketing director and executive producer at Inks Production Company, and account manager at Sherry Matthews Advertising.

Karen’s knowledge of water-related issues and vast network of connections have evolved through her involvement in community and public service. She served as Hays County Commissioner (2007 - 2010) where she led a citizen’s water conservation working group that produced the region’s first rainwater harvesting education event. The Rainwater Revival continues as an annual event today under the umbrella of the Hill Country Alliance where Karen is a founding and current board member. She also serves on the Advisory Council for UT’s Environmental Science Institute and chairs its marketing task force. Karen is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and holds degrees in English Literature and Radio, Television & Film.


KEVIN GREENBLAT

Creative Director

Kevin Greenblat and Karen Ford have been creative partners since the late 1990s, collaborating on numerous client projects that have included logo design, print advertising, volumes of collateral work, and book design. Kevin understands the art of communication design, story telling, and information hierarchy. He is the designer behind the highly popular, conservationist’s education tool, Your Remarkable Riparian, A Field Guide to Riparian Plants in the Nueces Basin, produced with WaterPR for the Nueces River Authority. Kevin is also an award-winning photographer and has captured haunting, unforgettable images from all over the world. View his portfolio here.
